My name is Matthew Bates and I 8767 m the attorney behind SmartBarPrep. I passed the NY bar exam on my first try, which I was thrilled about. What I wasn 8767 t pleased with were the ordinary review materials that I had purchased from the big name bar review companies. They were seriously lacking in helping prepare for the essay portion of the exam.

Extremely popular with law students, our outline, on-demand video lectures take vast amounts of information - entire 6L subjects - and deliver the material in a matter of a few hours.

The Rigos Bar Review Series Multistate Performance Test (MPT) textbook is all you need to pass the MPT administered by the National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE). Please begin by carefully reading the introductory chapter. It contains valuable information about the MPT exam and insights into the question characteristics of the tasks.

Six groups, each consisting of 66 to 67 experienced graders and up to two to three apprentice graders are selected to grade the essay and PT answers. The groups convene three times early in the grading cycle for the purpose of calibration. A member of the Examination Development and Grading Team (EDG Team) and a member of the committee supervise each group of Graders. At the first calibration session, the graders discuss a set of sample answers, which were distributed to everyone in the group prior to the meeting. These books are copies of answers written by a sample of the applicant group.

The MPT is designed to test an examinee?s ability to use fundamental lawyering skills in a realistic situation and complete a task that a beginning lawyer should be able to accomplish. The MPT is not a test of substantive knowledge. Rather, it is designed to evaluate certain fundamental skills lawyers are expected to demonstrate regardless of the area of law in which the skills arise.

The flashcards can be used to reinforce your knowledge of the rules tested on the exam, and can be used on your phone or tablet to review rules on-the-go !

If you want to be a lawyer, you have to pass the Bar exam in the state where you want to practice – and usually that means you have to graduate from law school first. California is one of only a handful of states in the United States that allows you to take the Bar exam without going to law school at all. However, you should keep in mind that your odds of actually passing are extremely low. The California Bar exam has a passage rate of less than 55 percent, and that rate shrinks to less than 5 percent among exam takers who didn't graduate from law school. [6]
